At Wizdom Simon manages the team looking after the compliance and taxation needs of our SMSF clients. He is passionate about SMSF accounting and the detail and complexities that brings. He loves sharing this knowledge and experience to help educate both the team and our clients. Simon also has sound and broad knowledge in all areas of Accounting and enjoys using this to service our clients and develop team. At WiZDOM Accounting he is known and respected as our “jack of all trades” and “spreadsheet master””.

Simon enjoys helping clients to minimise their tax, and looking at problems for a variety of angles to get the best outcome for the client, especially if they involve complex spreadsheets!

During his career he has worked in both branch/frontline customer service and management and back office/head office support roles. Kandi’s journey in the finance world began in 2007 when she started working with a property investment company in Queensland. But Kandi had bigger dreams—so in 2010, she took the leap and started her own business, focusing on helping people invest in property through individual, company/trust, and SMSF lending structures.

Originally from Singapore, Siva made the move to Australia for her education. Simone’s extensive banking experience has done all this by providing clients with proper knowledge and high attention to service delivery. Darren has been working in the Finance Industry since 1994 where his career started as a Bank Teller with a Big 4 Bank in his local branch. Then over the following 15 years he held a variety of administration, lending and management roles, all with that same Big 4 Bank. Darren then went on to work with several smaller Banks as a Business Development Manager working with new to Bank clients. Each role throughout this entire period was service focused and meeting the needs and expectations of clients.

Darren moved into Mortgage Broking in 2017 and now concentrates on providing support and education to clients looking to build wealth by purchasing property. His specialty is financing small construction developments and has assisted a number of clients grow their property portfolio in this manner over the years.

After graduating from University, Angela started her career in banking and has worked for all the major banks at some point. During her ten plus years in banking she gained experience in Finance, Financial Planning and Business Development. This gave Angela a well rounded base for her future in finance, both personally and professionally.

For the next ten years whilst raising 3 children, Angela was actively involved in a building and property development company owned by her husband. With her finance background, their joint passion and drive for property they were involved in numerous development projects and continue to do so.

In 2017 finance become more difficult with the increased regulation and scrutiny on lending practices, which particularly affected their client base of developers. Angela decided becoming a mortgage broker would be an ideal way to assist these clients to achieve their development goals, as she knows the right funding is vital when purchasing or developing property. Angela has worked as a self employed mortgage broker with her client base predominately consisting of investors and developers.

Angela believes in property as a wealth creation tool, and also believes that education and knowledge are power. Learning from those who have forged the way before you and using professional assistance to keep you on track to achieve your end goals are a strong formula for success.

Whilst as a Financial Planner, Gary serviced clients all over the country covering the full spectrum from Risk Insurance, SMSF funds to mortgage reduction. Gary’s focus in now fully on Mortgage Broking and since joining WiZDOM in 2019 he has been working with clients to ensure they achieve the best outcome on their property investing journey.

Through his own investment opportunities, Gary was able to put himself in a position to take some time off from the industry to spend time with his young family. During that period, he was also able to add business coaching to his list of credentials.

Laki’s passion for business started early, working in his family’s butcher shop in Yarraville, Melbourne. This experience taught him how to connect with people from all walks of life. Later, he ran a café in South Melbourne, further fuelling his entrepreneurial spirit.

With a corporate background in IT, Laki began his career as a Computer Operator in the late ‘90s. In 2006, he moved to London, working for the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Euronext), where he was first exposed to the world of investing. While stocks weren’t his focus, reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad sparked his interest in property investment. Lloyd has come from a successful business background, and has always had a passion for property, with his father being one of four brothers who followed in their father’s profession and all became builders. When he relocated to the UK in 2004, Lloyd commenced his journey in the industry through working at letting and real estate agent, quickly progressing to working for one of the top investment companies in the UK. Initially Lloyd was a client manager which involved helping clients to build their property portfolio, before holding a highly respected role as a property sourcer. Starting off her career in Advertising, Ruth became a Senior Account Manager working with Multi-National clients firstly in New Zealand then London for over 10 years. This gave her a wealth of experience working with a broad client base and strong business management skills.

Simone has been working in the Banking & Finance Industry since the early 2000’s. She first started out as a Mortgage Broker at the age of 18. This was both challenging and rewarding and Simone experienced some good success in both broker and broker support roles although she was finally attracted by the bright lights of a Big Bank. She started with a role in Credit Assessment for Residential Lending followed by roles in both Commercial and Agricultural Lending & Business Banking teams as an Assistant Manager.

After 7 years of working for Banks, Simone saw an opportunity to support Finance Broking businesses through remote assistance of loan application lodgement and tracking as a third party provider. This lead Simone to starting up a business with a Bank colleague and building that business from the ground up of the next few years.

Simone came into contact with WiZDOM Loans through that business, and instantly loved the strategy, support, network and the relationships they had with their clients.

Simone is also a keen property investor, investing with her family as this works well for her so she can spend more time doing what she is more so passionate about – finance and helping clients achieve their property goals. With 20 years of experience in the Financial Planning industry, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to WiZDOM. Over the course of her career, Melissa has developed a diverse skill set through her roles as a Superannuation and Personal Insurance Adviser, Paraplanner, Trainer, and Compliance Manager. Her extensive background, including over a decade spent with one of the Big 4 financial institutions, has equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of the industry, enabling her to provide exceptional support to both WiZDOM and its clients.

In late 2024, Melissa joined WiZDOM as an Associate Adviser, where she has found her passion working in the Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) space. Her deep and developing understanding of SMSFs allows her to support the team to create tailored strategies for clients to reach their financial goals.

In addition to her professional work, Melissa is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of finance professionals. She currently teaches Commerce and Business Studies, bringing real-world financial expertise into the classroom to inspire and develop aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and financial specialists.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her family, engaging in a variety of outdoor activities such as camping, surfing, snorkelling, and hiking. Her passion for helping others extends beyond her career, as she believes in the importance of balanced living and the pursuit of personal and professional growth.
